When using the Send To field, if the Value does not contain an email address in the valid format as specified in the Help on the Helferlein site (ie if the field is left blank or no email address is entered) then a critical error is encountered after submitting it:

At this time the form is no longer visible so the field cannot be edited and corrected; administrator needs to access the database directly to correct the record or delete it.  Some validation to prevent this error, or a way to render the form despite the issue, would be appreciated.

I don't understand the sense of having a value in the SendTo field without an email address. That's the way it works.
