DotNetPoison is a free tool that shall help to spoil the fun for spammers.DotNetPoison leads spiders harvesting the Web for e-mail effectively go astray. There will be random mail addresses from more than 230000 words generated on the page. I can hardly imagine that only one of them will go somewhere. In addition, randomly generated hyperlinks are displayed, but they are all leading back to the same page - again with new, random mail addresses and hypertext links ... DotNetPoison supports these harvesters' "intelligence", which is as high as the intelligence of the people who use the harversters (which is propably not very high). So: Happy harvest!
Why should you use this? There are two reasons:
-
To do mankind a favor. Perhaps trade with addresses will stop when there are millions of unusable addresses on the market, which nobody can use.
- To do exactly the same favor to yourself.
How can you use it? It's very simple: Just add an invisible link to your pages, like:
<a href="/DotNetPoison/default.aspx"><img src="/images/spacer.gif" width="1" height="1" border="0"></a>
or
<a href="/DotNetPoison/default.aspx"> </a>
(For DotNetNuke it is possible to add this link to a skin).
I recommend download and install it on your own server. Find an installaition instruction in the Help section of this site.
If this is not possible, you can use my installation, or the links here - I really ask all those who make use of that to add your link here.
For further informations concerning license and permissions of use read the comments in the file Default.aspx.cs in the delivered zip file.
How it looks: here is the page.
