helferlein Form is a DotNetNuke®-module that let's you create simple forms. Submissions may be sent by e-mail and/or stored in a database. Stored submissions may be displayed for a given number of days.

helferlein Form is based on ODS Form by Bjarte Djuvik Naess from Norway. His module was released on www.nukenow.com, but this site is not up any more.

After implementing some smaller extensions, I decided to completely re-develop the module under C#.

Help/Support

Online Help is now available for the module, please use it to get further information. Please use the forum for support and documenting bugs.

Suppport is only available for the latest version. Older versions are here for download (for users of SQL Server 2000 and/or DNN4), but these versions will not be updated any more.

Requirements/Test

Since version 01.04.00, DotNetNuke 04.06.00 or higher is required. For earlier versions of DNN please use version 01.03.01. Originally helferlein_Form was developed on DotNetNuke 04.05.05, I cannot say if it is running on earlier versions without problems.

Version 02.00.00 requires DNN 04.09.00 or higher and helferlein_BabelFish 01.00.00 or higher (localization component).

I strongly recommend the use of SQL Server 2005 or 2008. Since version 01.01.00, SQL Server 2000 is no longer supported. For SQL Server 2000 you should use version 01.00.03 with DotNetNuke up to 04.05.xx, or version 01.00.04 for DotNetNuke 04.06.00 or higher. Version 01.00.04 is definitely the last version that supports SQL Server 2000. If you encounter any problems with DotNetNuke versions after 04.08.00 and do not want to change to SQL Server 2005, the only possibility to use the module is to buy the source version and adapt it yourself.

helferlein_BabelFish

helferlein_Form 02.00.00 or higher supports dynamic content localization. helferlein_BabelFish has to be installed before installing or upgrading helferlein_Form.

Localizations

Up to version 02.00.00, the installation package contains an Englich (standard) and three German (de-AT, de-CH and de-DE) localizations.

From version 02.00.01 on, the language packs have to be downloaded seperately, English (US) is included as default.

Martin Kaderli from Switzerland was so friendly to write French and Italian localizations (fr-CH, fr-FR, it-CH and it-IT), which can be found for download on kadiweb.ch.

If you buy the source code once, you may download any version - even future ones (Anyway, I would not mind further donations...)

DotNetNuke 05.00.xx compatibility

helferlein_Form 01.05.01 works with DNN 05.00.xx. When you install or upgrade helferlein _Form to version 02.00.00, please be sure that you installed helferlein_BabelFish 01.00.00 before. A bug in the installer does not recognize the dependency from the older manifest format. (DNN-9696)

helferlein_Form 02.00.01 or higher is not compatible with DNN 4!
